About Us

Tree House Timberworks specializes in traditional timber framing techniques and joinery. Our team works one-on-one with clients to design unique structures that capture the beauty and exceptional strength that a timber frame structure provides. The longevity and sustainability of buildings is of utmost importance, so creating buildings and structures to last for generations is a company priority.

We’ve mastered Mortise and Tendon Construction, which act as the joints of the structure and mean that no crews, nails or other fasteners are needed. These joints are secured with hardwood dowels to preserve the fit and ensure a beautiful, sustainable structure.

Owned and operated by carpenter Mike Adams, who, after working over 10 years in commercial construction, transitioned to a more natural building style, focused on using wood materials and hand tools.

Our shop is located in Peterborough, Ontario, in the heart of cottage country. Whereas much of our work is completed close to home, we do travel throughout Southern Ontario as requested.

We’re thrilled to have recently expanded our business and moved to a new 4000 sqft shop in East City, Peterborough. Read more about our expansion here.

We’re a small business with big ideas. We regularly partner with local businesses and organizations to support their building and education efforts.

Lastly, safety is of paramount importance to us; we’re fully insured and covered by WSIB.
